Ezekiel 20:34
And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.
Ezekiel 20:34 is a promise that God himself will bring his people out from among the peoples and gather them out of the countries where they have been scattered. That gathering will be accomplished by powerful action, with a mighty hand and a stretched-out arm, and amid outpoured judgment expressed as fury poured out. The scattering among the nations will thus be reversed by a deliberate divine extraction and collection of his own.
The deliverance of ancient Israel from Egypt foreshadows the final deliverance of the saints. As the plagues fell upon Egypt just before and during Israel's release, so the seven last plagues will fall upon the wicked just before and during the deliverance of the saints. The former bondage and judgments therefore outline the pattern for the latter, with judgment on oppressors accompanying liberation of the oppressed. The end-time gathering will come through that same conjunction of mighty deliverance for God's people and plague-judgment upon the wicked.
