Ezekiel 20:36
Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD. Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.
God will plead with the present generation in the same way He pleaded with their fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt. That Egypt-and-wilderness setting makes the plagues of Egypt and Israel's deliverance from bondage the pattern for the end. As He then sent plagues upon Egypt while delivering Israel, so the seven last plagues will fall upon the wicked just before and during the deliverance of the saints.
