Ezekiel 24:14

I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.

God's declaration against Jerusalem was certain to come to pass because the people had refused His word, and having spoken it He would not withdraw it, spare, or delay its fulfillment. Their own deeds would bring their judgment upon them, measured exactly according to their ways and their doings. No casting of lots would decide who escaped and who was destroyed, for guilt and retribution rested on personal conduct rather than chance.

That same warning reaches all who reject God's admonitions and the light He sends, showing that punishment will correspond directly to wrongdoing. Those who turn away from reproof cannot evade the outcome, and in their judgment truth will be vindicated.
