Ezekiel 24:24
Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD. Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel himself was set as a sign to the people, so that what he did foreshadowed what they would do. When the sanctuary in Jerusalem was taken away together with those dear to them, they would suffer as he had suffered. Like him they would be left without the customary expressions of mourning. When this sign came to pass, it would confirm that the foretold judgment had arrived and that the Lord is God.
