Ezekiel 24:7
For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust; For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;
The blood remains in the middle of Jerusalem, placed out in the open on the top of bare rock instead of being poured out on the ground and covered with dust, so that bloodguilt stands exposed rather than concealed. The blood thus openly displayed is the city's unrepented violence, left unconfessed and uncovered before God. Because the guilt was not hidden but blatantly exposed, judgment was to come upon Jerusalem. That judgment would go forward without any casting of lots to determine who should be spared and who should be destroyed.
