Ezekiel 25:13
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.
The Lord declares He will stretch out His hand upon Edom in judgment. He will cut off both man and beast from it and make its land desolate from Teman, while they of Dedan shall fall by the sword. This is one of the prophecies of destruction and specific judgments pronounced against the nations around Judah, a prophecy against another nation. Those surrounding nations were judged because they rejoiced at Judah's humiliation and the desolation of God's sanctuary.
It stands within a group of prophecies whose fulfillment is evident today. Its fulfillment included Nebuchadnezzar's attack on Idumea, compelling its people to submit, as part of the prophetic wars that ended Chaldean conquests in Western Asia.
