Ezekiel 25:14
And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 25:14 belongs to the prophecies against the nations surrounding Judah and Israel, including Ammon, Moab, Tyre, and Egypt as well as Edom. Edom, like Ammon, Tyre, and Moab, had rejoiced at Judah's humiliation and the desolation of God's sanctuary. For that rejoicing, the Lord foretold specific destruction to come upon such nations. Through these surrounding kingdoms God illustrates how He deals with nations and brings down their pride.
These prophecies against the other nations are remarkable and their fulfillment remains visibly evident. Its fulfillment came in the wars that ended the Chaldean conquests in Western Asia, when Nebuchadnezzar attacked Idumea, that is Edom, and compelled its people to submit.
