Ezekiel 25:16
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.
Ezekiel 25:16 belongs to the group of prophecies against foreign and other nations found in Ezekiel 25-31.
It announces God's specific destructive judgment upon the Philistines, cutting off the Cherethites and destroying the remnant of the sea coast as the appointed destruction for those peoples.
This judgment is directed against the nations around Judah and Israel that rejoiced at Judah's humiliation and the desolation of God's sanctuary, with the Philistines numbered among them.
These prophecies show God's judgment upon the nations surrounding Israel humbling their pride.
It stands among those remarkable prophecies whose fulfillment is evident in the present day.
