Ezekiel 25:7

Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

Ezekiel 25:7 belongs to the prophecies of judgment against Ammon and the other surrounding nations around Judah. It stands with the prophecies against those neighboring peoples to whom the Lord foretold specific destruction for their part in Judah's downfall. The judgment came because Ammon and the neighboring peoples rejoiced over and mocked Israel's humiliation when Jerusalem was destroyed and left desolate, including the profaning and desolation of the sanctuary, the desolation of the land, and Judah's captivity.

The verse declares that God would stretch out His hand upon Ammon to hand it over as spoil and plunder to other nations. He would cut it off from the peoples, cause it to perish out of the countries, defeat it, take away its place among the nations, and destroy it and bring it to ruin. This destruction was given so that Ammon would know that He is the LORD God. In this way the verse illustrates how God brings down the pride of nations that oppose Him and His people.
