Ezekiel 25:9
Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim, Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim,
Ezekiel 25:9 stands within the extended group of prophecies against foreign nations found in Ezekiel 25-32. Within that group it belongs to the prophecy of judgment directed specifically against Moab. That prophecy foretells judgment against Moab involving the loss of its frontier cities and the glory of its land.
The cities named are Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim, lying on Moab's frontiers and called the glory of the country. God would open or breach the side of Moab from its cities on the frontier and take those notable cities away, so that Moab would lose them. This judgment on Moab belongs to a wider judgment on the nations around Judah that rejoiced when Judah was humiliated and God's sanctuary was made desolate. It was among the punishments of the peoples who mocked Jerusalem after its destruction.
These prophecies against the other nations have been fulfilled. The fulfillment came through Nebuchadnezzar's campaigns, when after taking Tyre he attacked Idumea, Moab, and Ammon and brought them into submission.
