Ezekiel 28:20

Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

The verse records another word of the Lord coming to Ezekiel as part of the warning against rebellion, turning the prophecy next against Zidon. In its wider context it belongs to the account of Lucifer's self-exaltation, which becomes a power he uses to influence people in later times. The history described in that context is to be repeated. The account warns that experience and education do not perfect a person's knowledge of God's glory when they lead to self-exaltation rather than honoring God and Jesus Christ.

The context also shows the work of Lucifer and the angels expelled from heaven who now work upon minds. It exposes how Satan in disguise diverts minds from the special work of saving perishing souls to unessential details, fills every opening to bring confusion into the ranks, and enlarges little differences of opinion until they become prominent. It warns that Lucifer watches every movement to magnify disagreement, confuse believers and unbelievers, and hinder the advancement of the work, and that strange spirits can take part in this opposition.
