Ezekiel 28:24

And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

The chapter belongs primarily to Lucifer and gives the account of his self-exaltation. It warns of evil and its eventual end, and in that sense it also describes a broader movement that God's people will witness. The surrounding peoples who despised Israel will no longer afflict them like a pricking brier or a grieving thorn, after God judges those enemies. After that judgment Israel will know that He is the Lord God.

That same self-exalting influence can lead people in the present and in the future to oppose God and to persecute others. The warning in the chapter therefore calls God's people to follow all the light God has given so they will not be deceived in the last days.
