Ezekiel 3:26

And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.

The chapter that contains this silencing of the prophet is one to be studied carefully by God's workmen. Its setting makes it a lesson for all who carry forward God's work that they must depend on God in that work. The condition described is that of a prophet whose tongue is made to stick to the roof of his mouth so that he is dumb and cannot act as a reprover to a rebellious house. In contrast to that enforced silence, living human agencies are now called to speak out and proclaim the third angel's message.
