Ezekiel 33:24
Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance. The chapter in which this verse stands sets forth a divine government under which every person is held personally responsible. No one is able to render obedience on behalf of another, nor to fulfill a duty that belongs to a neighbor. When another neglects what is required, that neglect offers no excuse for one's own neglect.
