Ezekiel 35:11

Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee.

Ezekiel 35:11 stands in the section Ezekiel 34-36, which forms part of a reading confined entirely to Ezekiel. That setting places the verse within the prophet's own book rather than among other Scriptures. It belongs to a prophecy of judgment against Seir, that is, Edom. In that portion Ezekiel pleads for twenty-two years for Israel to turn to God. He uses the kingdoms on every side of Israel as illustrations of how God has dealt with them and brought down their pride. He likewise shows how God will bring down the pride of those still remaining.
