Ezekiel 35:15
As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD. As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Ezekiel 35:15 is a prophecy of judgment against Seir, that is Edom. It belongs to Ezekiel's twenty-two-year appeal for Israel to turn to God, which uses the kingdoms on every side of Israel to illustrate how God has dealt with them and brought down their pride and will bring down the pride of those that remain. It stands in the last part of the book, chapters 33 to 48, which give consolation and promise and foretell restoration.
Within that part it belongs with chapters 35 to 37, whose message is the hope of the resurrection. Chapter 35 has been appealed to to prove the return of the Jews, the reign of Christ, and the inheritance of the saints on earth. That earthly application is denied, because the saints are taken to heaven at the second coming of Christ when the earth is desolated.
