Ezekiel 36:24

Israel had been dispersed among the nations as the consequence of its own sins. God promises to take His people from among the heathen, to gather them out of all countries, and to bring them back into their own land. This gathering is not performed on account of any merit in Israel, but is undertaken for the sake of His own holy name, which Israel had profaned among the nations where they had gone. By this restoration Israel itself will come to know that He is the Lord, and the surrounding nations will likewise recognize that He is the Lord. The return to the land belongs to a fuller reconciliation in which God cleanses His people from sin and from idols, gives them a new heart and a new spirit, and brings them to walk in obedience to His statutes and judgments.
