Ezekiel 37:26
Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
The promise is an everlasting covenant of peace in which God will place and establish His people and multiply them and set His sanctuary in their midst forevermore. In that covenant He will be their God and they shall be His people, and the nations and the heathen shall know that He sanctifies Israel when His sanctuary is in the midst of them. It points forward to the triumph of Israel and Judah.
The promise belongs to those who keep God's commandments and His law. It belongs to the few who have not defiled their garments and shall walk with Christ in white because they are worthy. It gives assurance to God's commandment-keeping people in the coming conflict and time of perplexity and trouble and deception when they are challenged.
It is claimed by making peace with God and taking hold of His strength in Christ. That means being of one heart bound up with Christ and with one another and hid with Christ in God. God will give His people the experience of Jacob and then fulfill the promise in their deliverance. Then they will claim His peace and abiding presence with hearts filled with gladness and lips filled with joyful praise.
Its accomplishment comes through human instrumentalities and workers charged and filled with divine power. It is made possible only by unity and cooperation of the human with the divine, as humanity blended with divinity grasps and lays hold of divine power and divine efficiency until the work is complete. All glory in it is ascribed to God's great power.
At the deliverance of the saints, those who died in faith under the third angel's message while keeping the Sabbath will be raised glorified to hear the covenant God makes with and delivers to those who have kept His law. When God turns their captivity and ends it at His voice, God's people will rejoice in the covenant of peace. That rejoicing is connected with His sanctuary among them as the ark is brought into its place in the tabernacle, and David's gladness when the ark was brought into the city gives a small foretaste of that future joy.
