Ezekiel 40:16

And there were narrow windows to the little chambers, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches: and windows were round about inward: and upon each post were palm trees.

The verse belongs to the vision in which a man with the appearance of brass stood in the gate of the house and measured the whole building with a reed in his hand. The narrow windows to the little chambers and to their posts and to the arches were part of what he measured, among little chambers and doorways and arches and pillars and the great gate facing east. Every smallest item was recorded according to the measurement of the reed, with nothing left unmeasured.

This exact measuring is everything, and it is the law of God. It applies His law to the smallest of human acts and dealings, bringing divine measurement into the least things of life. By learning that law and living it, people are elevated and ennobled and sanctified. They are made faithful in the least, building character after the divine model in a righteous life of honest and faithful dealing.
