Ezekiel 40:25
And there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits. And there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
The vision shows a man whose appearance was like brass standing in the gate with a measuring reed in his hand, measuring and recording the whole building down to every least item. He measured little chambers and doorways and arches and pillars, and the great gate looking toward the east, leaving nothing unmeasured. In that measuring the windows and the arches round about are given as fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits broad, like those windows before them.
That exact measurement teaches that true measure is everything. It is the very law of God put into the least of human acts and dealings. The spiritual measure is God's measure of the person.
Learning that measure and living it elevates and ennobles and sanctifies in heart and affection. It makes a person faithful in the least. It builds character after the divine model by the power and grace brought through Jesus Christ. It prepares for the glory to be revealed when the glory of God comes in.
To love God supremely and the neighbor as self is the whole duty of man. A righteous life in honest, faithful dealings makes up the whole righteous stature and structure. That structure stands against human false signs and false values set in place of God.
