Ezekiel 40:31
And the arches thereof were toward the utter court; and palm trees were upon the posts thereof: and the going up to it had eight steps. And the arches thereof were toward the utter court; and palm trees were upon the posts thereof: and the going up to it had eight steps.
In the vision the figure like burnished brass takes his stand in the gateway with the measuring reed in his hand and measures the archway facing the outer court, the palm trees carved upon its posts, and the eight steps ascending to it, with every smallest item entered in the record. Nothing is passed over as too minor to be measured, for the measurement extends to every least detail of the house of God. That exact divine measurement is everything in the building of character and life.
The true measure is the very law of God brought down into the least of human acts and dealings. It requires honest and faithful dealing in all business, loving God supremely and one's neighbor as oneself. Faithfulness in the least things builds up the whole righteous stature and structure.
By such faithfulness a character after the divine model is formed, elevated and ennobled and sanctified through the power and grace brought through Jesus Christ. This preparation makes ready for the glory of God to enter, and for that glory to be revealed.
