Ezekiel 40:34

And the arches thereof were toward the outward court; and palm trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the going up to it had eight steps.

In the temple vision a man with the appearance of brass stood in the gate and measured the whole building with God's reed. He measured every little chamber and doorway and arch and pillar, even to the great gate toward the east, and every least item was recorded. The arches toward the outward court are one of those least measured items, showing that nothing small escapes the divine measuring.

That measuring shows that the true measure is everything, and that measure is the very law of God. It is to be put into the least of acts and dealings, brought into daily life down to its smallest details. Those who learn it and live it are elevated and ennobled and sanctified. They are made faithful in the least and prepared for the glory to be revealed.

The verse therefore calls for character and works that measure life and things by God's exact spiritual measure. That measuring is loving God supremely and the neighbor as self. It is living a righteous life in honest and faithful dealings. Such love and righteousness make up the whole righteous stature and structure.
