Ezekiel 40:4
And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.
The vision is a divinely given measure of God's house, with the building itself and every detail of it measured out and put on record. That measured record is to be set before Israel so that they may measure the pattern held up to them. Nothing is left vague or unmeasured, for the measuring extends to the whole and to each particular.
The exactness of that measuring sets forth God's standard of measurement for human life. That standard reaches even to the smallest acts and dealings, leaving no part of conduct outside its reckoning. A life of honest, faithful conduct is one that measures up to that standard.
