Ezekiel 40:7

And every little chamber was one reed long, and one reed broad; and between the little chambers were five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate within was one reed.

The verse belongs to a vision of exact divine measuring, in which a man whose appearance was like brass stands in the gate with a reed in his hand and measures the whole building. He measures every little chamber with its doorways and arches and pillars, and the great gate toward the east, until every least item is recorded according to the reed. This shows that God's exact measurement reaches to the smallest parts of His house.

True measure is everything, because it is the very law of God. This spiritual measure is God's measure of a person.

God puts His law into the least of human acts and dealings, so that by learning it and living it in faithfulness in the least, people are elevated and ennobled and sanctified. By it they are built up in character after the divine model, loving God supremely and their neighbor as themselves. A righteous life of honest, faithful dealings makes the whole righteous stature and structure.
