Ezekiel 41:14

Also the breadth of the face of the house, and of the separate place toward the east, an hundred cubits.

The breadth of one hundred cubits is one exact item in the larger vision of a man whose appearance was like brass standing in the gate with a reed in his hand to measure the whole building. He measures and records every least part, every small chamber and doorway, every arch and pillar, and every gate facing toward the east. That careful recording shows that no detail is overlooked, for the measurement extends to the entire structure and to each of its divisions.

True measure is everything, because it is the very law of God brought to bear upon the least of acts and dealings. The outward measuring points to a spiritual measure, which is God's own measurement of the man himself. What is counted in cubits therefore teaches what is counted in character, that life is weighed by a divine standard down to its smallest transactions.

The verse calls for persons whose characters and works measure life and all things by that exact measurement of God. Such faithfulness in the least elevates and ennobles, sanctifying the heart and the affections. Those thus measured and made true are fitted to live and fitted to rule.

This is accomplished by taking power and grace through Jesus Christ and building character after the divine model for the glory to be revealed. That building is loving God supremely and loving the neighbor as self. A righteous life in honest and faithful dealing then makes up the whole righteous stature and structure.
