Ezekiel 41:18
And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces; And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces;
In the vision of Ezekiel 40 through 43 a man with the appearance of brass stands in the gate of the house with a reed in his hand and measures the whole building. He measures the little chambers and the doorways and the arches and the pillars, and the great gate facing toward the east. The carved work of cherubim and palm trees, a palm tree between a cherub and a cherub, is one of the smallest details thus recorded by that reed measurement. That even such a carved detail is measured shows that true measure is everything.
True measure is the very law of God placed into the smallest acts and dealings of people. The vision ends with the glory of God coming in, and with the command to show the house to Israel that they may be ashamed of their iniquities and measure the pattern. For this is the law of the house, that the whole limit thereof upon the top of the mountain shall be most holy. Learning and living this divine measurement elevates and ennobles and sanctifies a person through faithfulness in the least. What is needed now is people whose character and work measure life and things by God's exact measurement, where a righteous life in honest and faithful dealing forms the whole righteous stature and structure.
