Ezekiel 41:2
And the breadth of the door was ten cubits; and the sides of the door were five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side: and he measured the length thereof, forty cubits: and the breadth, twenty cubits. And the breadth of the door was ten cubits; and the sides of the door were five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side: and he measured the length thereof, forty cubits: and the breadth, twenty cubits.
The ten cubits of breadth for the door with five cubits on either side and forty cubits of length by twenty of breadth belongs to an exact measuring of the whole house, when one with the appearance of brass stood in the gate with a measuring reed in his hand and measured every little chamber and doorway and arch and pillar and the great gate toward the east, so that every least item was recorded. True measure is everything in that measuring, for it is the very law of God brought into the least of acts and dealings. Learning that law and living it uplifts, ennobles and sanctifies the heart and affections, builds character after the divine pattern by the power and grace provided through Jesus Christ, and prepares for the glory to be revealed.
The spiritual measure set forth is God's measure of a person, to love God supremely and to love one's neighbor as oneself, in contrast to human false standards and false values. After the measuring the glory of God entered the house, and the house was to be shown to Israel that they might be ashamed of their iniquities and measure the pattern, for the law of the house upon the top of the mountain is most holy. The doorway measure now calls for men and women whose characters and works measure life and all things by God's exact measurement, where a righteous life of honest and faithful dealing forms the whole righteous stature and structure.
