Ezekiel and the Man of Bronze Measure the Templeby emmanuel_higgins

Ezekiel 41:22

The altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me, This is the table that is before the LORD.

The verse belongs to the vision in which a man with the appearance of brass stood in the gate and measured the whole building with a reed in his hand. Every detail was recorded according to the measurement, including the little chambers and doorways and arches and pillars. The record included the great gate facing toward the east and every least item, even to the wooden altar that is the table before the LORD.

The exactness of that recording shows that true measure is everything and is the very law of God. That law God puts into even the least acts and dealings of people. By learning that measure and living it, people are elevated and ennobled and sanctified in heart and affection. They become faithful in the least, loving God supremely and their neighbor as themselves.

This spiritual measure is God's measure of a person. A righteous life of honest and faithful dealing builds up the whole righteous stature and structure. That building prepares for the glory to be revealed and fits for the law of the house, whose whole limit upon the top of the mountain is most holy.
