Ezekiel 41:5
After he measured the wall of the house, six cubits; and the breadth of every side chamber, four cubits, round about the house on every side. After he measured the wall of the house, six cubits; and the breadth of every side chamber, four cubits, round about the house on every side.
Ezekiel 41:5 belongs to the vision of chapters 40 through 43 in which a man whose appearance was like brass stood in the gate and measured the whole building with a reed in his hand. Every least detail was recorded, including the little chambers and doorways and arches and pillars and the great gate facing east toward which it looked. In that measuring the wall of the house was given as six cubits, and the breadth of every side chamber as four cubits, round about the house on every side. Exact measurement is everything, for true measure is the very law of God. That law God puts into even the least of human acts and dealings, so that by learning it and living it people may be elevated and ennobled and sanctified.
Those who are faithful in the least, even in a mere wheat measure, shall live and rule among the greatest. The spiritual measure is God's measure of a person, formed by receiving the power and grace brought through Jesus Christ. By the will of God such a one builds up a character after the divine model, in preparation for the glory to be revealed. That character is to love God supremely and the neighbor as self, which is the whole duty of humanity. After the measuring the glory of God came in, and the pattern is to be shown to the house of Israel so they may be ashamed of their iniquities and measure the pattern.
For this is the law of the house, that upon the top of the mountain its whole limit is most holy. What is now needed is people whose characters and works measure life and things by the exact measurement of God. A righteous life in honest and faithful dealings makes up the whole righteous stature and structure.
