Ezekiel 41:6
And the side chambers were three, one over another, and thirty in order; and they entered into the wall which was of the house for the side chambers round about, that they might have hold, but they had not hold in the wall of the house. And the side chambers were three, one over another, and thirty in order; and they entered into the wall which was of the house for the side chambers round about, that they might have hold, but they had not hold in the wall of the house.
The verse belongs to a visionary measuring of the house, where the side chambers are three stories high and thirty in order. The measuring is done with a reed in the hand of a man with the appearance of brass standing in the gate. Every smallest chamber and doorway and arch and pillar is set down, and the great gate toward the east is recorded according to measurement. God's exact measurement thus reaches to the smallest parts of His house, so that true measure is everything.
That true measure is the very law of God, to be put into the least of human acts and dealings. Learning and living that measure elevates, ennobles, and sanctifies heart and affection, making a person faithful in the least and loving God supremely and neighbor as self, which is the whole duty of man. In its spiritual sense the measurement is God's measure of the person, where a righteous life in honest and faithful dealings builds up the whole righteous stature and structure. That completed righteous structure prepares for the glory of God to come in and for the glory to be revealed. Showing Israel this measured pattern shames iniquity and declares the law of the house to be most holy upon the top of the mountain.
