Ezekiel 41:8

I saw also the height of the house round about: the foundations of the side chambers were a full reed of six great cubits.

The vision places a man bright as brass standing in the gate with a measuring reed in his hand to measure the whole house, and nothing is passed by but every least item is recorded, every small chamber and doorway and arch and pillar and the great gate facing east, down to the foundations of the side chambers set down as a full reed of six great cubits. That exact measuring of every least part is the law of God and the law of the house. It declares that God puts His law into the smallest acts and dealings and requires faithfulness in the least.

By learning that law and living it, people are elevated and ennobled and sanctified, building character after the divine model and making ready for the glory to be revealed when the glory of God enters. To love God supremely and to love neighbor as self is the whole duty of man, and this spiritual measure is God's measure of a person, forming the true person and the whole righteous stature and structure through a righteous life of honest and faithful dealing, while those unenlightened by the Spirit substitute false signs and false values. The measured pattern is to be shown to Israel so that they may be ashamed of their iniquities.
