Ezekiel 42:1
Then he brought me forth into the utter court, the way toward the north: and he brought me into the chamber that was over against the separate place, and which was before the building toward the north. Then he brought me forth into the utter court, the way toward the north: and he brought me into the chamber that was over against the separate place, and which was before the building toward the north.
The vision shows a man with the appearance of brass bringing the prophet out into the outer court toward the north and into the chamber opposite the separate place and before the building toward the north. With the measuring reed in his hand he measures the whole house, recording the little chambers and doorways and arches and pillars and the great gate facing east, down to every least detail. This belongs to the Lord's directions for buildings to be prepared, showing that God gives plans for their arrangement and use.
True measure is everything, and that measure is the very law of God to be put into the least of human acts and dealings. By learning it and living it people are elevated and ennobled and sanctified, made faithful in the least, and build character after the divine model through the power and grace brought through Jesus Christ. What is called for is persons whose characters and works and honest faithful dealings measure life and things by God's exact spiritual measurement. These building directions illustrate that the Lord is prepared to help people when matters are handled properly.
