Ezekiel 42:11

And the way before them was like the appearance of the chambers which were toward the north, as long as they, and as broad as they: and all their goings out were both according to their fashions, and according to their doors.

The chambers and the way lying before them corresponded exactly to those toward the north, equal in length and in breadth, with every outlet ordered after the same fashion and every entrance after the same manner of doors. This likeness in measure, arrangement, and access shows a building made uniform throughout, part answering to part without variation.

The detail belongs to the exact measuring of God's house carried down even to the little chambers, where nothing is left unmeasured and every least item is recorded by the reed in the hand of the man whose appearance is like brass as he stands in the gate. The directions given concerning the sanctuary buildings in this connection show that the Lord Himself furnishes plans and guidance for the ordering of His work.

That exact measurement is the very law of God, His spiritual measure of man. It is to be brought into the least of human acts and dealings, and by learning it and living it men and women are elevated and ennobled, sanctified in heart and affection, and made faithful in the least. So lived, it produces supreme love to God and love to the neighbor as to self, which is the whole duty of man.

A righteous life expressed in honest, faithful dealing builds character after the divine model up into the whole righteous stature and structure. Such character fits men to live and to rule among the greatest, to be entrusted with the divine cause, and to be prepared for the glory to be revealed.
