Ezekiel 42:12
And according to the doors of the chambers that were toward the south was a door in the head of the way, even the way directly before the wall toward the east, as one entereth into them. And according to the doors of the chambers that were toward the south was a door in the head of the way, even the way directly before the wall toward the east, as one entereth into them.
The measuring of God's house reaches down to the smallest particulars, noting the doors of the chambers on the south side and the door at the head of the way directly before the wall toward the east at the point of entrance. This attention to a single doorway shows that no detail is too minor to be included in the divine reckoning. It belongs to a larger measuring in which a man whose appearance was like brass stood in the gate and measured the entire building with a reed in his hand. That measuring embraced the great gate looking toward the east together with all the little chambers and doorways and arches and pillars, with every least item recorded according to the measurement by the reed.
The exact measurement by the reed is the very law of God, His spiritual measure of the man. That law is to be put into the least of men's acts and dealings. By learning it and living it they are elevated and ennobled and sanctified. By it they are made faithful in the least and built up in character after the divine model, for a righteous life in honest, faithful dealing makes up the whole righteous stature and structure.
