Priests Fold Holy Garments in the Temple Chambersby emmanuel_higgins

Ezekiel 42:13

Then said he unto me, The north chambers and the south chambers, which are before the separate place, they be holy chambers, where the priests that approach unto the LORD shall eat the most holy things: there shall they lay the most holy things, and the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; for the place is holy.

The north and south chambers before the separate place belong to a larger vision in which the whole house of God is surveyed with care. Every division of that house, down to its chambers and its doorways, is measured and set down exactly. That measured house was to be shown to Israel as a pattern, and the law given with it declares the house to be holy. The exactness of the measuring carries a moral lesson that life and conduct are themselves to be brought to the measure of God's standard. By that standard, honest and faithful dealing in everyday matters builds a righteous character.
