Ezekiel 43:11

And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, shew them the form of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the goings out thereof, and the comings in thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof: and write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them.

The form of the house and its design, with its exits and its entrances, together with all its forms and ordinances and laws, are to be shown to Israel and written in their sight. This showing is conditioned on their being ashamed of all that they have done, so that shame for their iniquities leads them to keep the whole form and all its ordinances and to do them. The pattern thus set before them is measured in detail, even down to the smallest parts.

That minuteness of measurement declares that the divine standard is exact and precise, leaving nothing vague or approximate. The governing law of the house is that its entire surrounding limit is supremely holy. Applied to human experience, the pattern means that life and conduct are to be measured by God's standard. Honest and faithful dealings in harmony with that standard build a righteous character.
