Ezekiel Bows as God's Glory Fills the East Gateby emmanuel_higgins

Ezekiel 43:3

And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face.

The vision in this verse is the same kind of vision Ezekiel had seen before. It is identified with the vision he saw when he came concerning the destruction of the city, that is Jerusalem. It is also identified with the vision he saw by the river Chebar. It belongs to the record in Ezekiel 40–43 in which every part of the house is measured and recorded.

In that record the returning glory of God is followed by a command to show the house to Israel and have them measure its pattern. The measurements illustrate exactness, showing that God's standard reaches every detail. People are therefore to measure their character and conduct by that divine standard.
