Ezekiel 44:10

And the Levites that are gone away far from me, when Israel went astray, which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity.

The verse concerns Levites who departed far from God at the time Israel wandered astray into the worship of idols. They did not merely drift with the nation but went astray themselves away from Him after those idols. To bear their iniquity means they were held personally accountable for that unfaithfulness and were required to bear its penalty. They were not cut off from all sanctuary service, yet they were permanently barred from acting as priests and from coming near the holy things.
