Ezekiel 44:13

And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy place: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed.

The verse concerns the Levites who turned away from God when Israel went astray and gave themselves to the service of idols. Because of that unfaithfulness they were barred from coming near to God to perform the office of priest. They were likewise forbidden to approach the holy things, even to the Most Holy Place. Instead they were to bear their shame and guilt for the abominations they had committed. Yet they were not wholly cast off, for they still retained subordinate duties in connection with the sanctuary. In this judgment the verse reveals that God requires fidelity in those who minister for Him and upholds the holiness of His service.
