Ezekiel 5:4
Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel. Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.
Ezekiel was God's prophet among the captives taken to Babylonia with King Jehoiachin in 597 B.C., and this word belongs to his prophecies concerning Judah and Jerusalem. The hair in the sign represents Israel and its people. A portion of what the hair stands for is taken again and cast into the midst of the fire and burned there. From what is thus burned a fire comes forth into all the house of Israel. That spreading fire signifies judgment reaching the whole house of Israel.
