Ezekiel 6:12

He that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my fury upon them.

The verse stands in the first twenty chapters of the book given through Ezekiel. It falls within Ezekiel 5-8. It was given through Ezekiel as God's mouthpiece among the captives in Babylonia by the river Chebar while Jeremiah was prophesying in Jerusalem. Ezekiel prophesied among Israel's captives between 595 and 574, and his warnings followed visions in which God revealed His glory.

The accomplishing of fury upon them was fulfilled in the Roman destruction of the Jews. Then their high places were destroyed and their slain lay upon every high hill. Their high and fenced walls wherein they trusted came down under siege in all their gates. This reached its end at the overthrow of Masada where nine hundred and sixty lay slain and the subjection of all Judea was completed.
