Ezekiel 6:5

And I will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.

Ezekiel 6 belongs to Ezekiel's work as a prophet among Israel's captives, given after God revealed His glory to him and sent him to his people with warnings and reproof. The verse pronounces God's judgment on Israel's idolatry, that the dead bodies of the people would be laid before their idols and their bones scattered around their altars. It means God would destroy Israel's high places and lay its slain on every high hill round about their altars and idols, so that they would know that He is the Lord.

That judgment was fulfilled in the destruction of Judea by the Romans, completed at Masada. Masada was a fortress on a very high rock where 960 slain men, women and children were found. This proves God's anger against Israel for manifold sins and that He had condemned them to destruction and left them to their enemies.
