Ezra 2:23

The men of Anathoth, an hundred twenty and eight.

Ezra 2:23 is one entry in the list of names and numbers of those who returned from the Babylonian captivity to Jerusalem to their own land after Cyrus's proclamation and offer to go back. The return it records came with Zerubbabel in the first year of Cyrus, and is distinct from the Jews who still remained in Babylon and from the large number who later went up to Jerusalem with Ezra. The returning company numbered 42,360 persons, described as nearly fifty thousand people who accepted the offer to go back. The list records the return of a small remnant.
