Ezra 5:15

And said unto him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be builded in his place.

The command directed that the sacred vessels be taken up to Jerusalem and deposited in the temple there, and that the house of God be rebuilt on its original site. The cost of that rebuilding was to be met from the king's own treasury. The work on the temple went forward even in the face of opposition. When the earlier decree of Cyrus was afterward searched out and confirmed, that confirmation supplied formal protection and backing that secured the completion of the building.
