Ezra 5:3
At the same time came to them Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shethar-boznai, and their companions, and said thus unto them, Who hath commanded you to build this house, and to make up this wall? Tatnai was governor of the province west of the river, and he came to the Jewish builders together with Shethar-boznai and their companions. They confronted those engaged in the work and demanded to know who had commanded them to build the house and to complete its wall. This challenge came from men in authority and threatened to hinder the progress of the rebuilding. Yet God kept watch over the elders of the Jews, so the officials were unable to stop the building while the question was referred to King Darius for a decision.
