Ezra 8:17
And I sent them with commandment unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say unto Iddo, and to his brethren the Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.
The verse records Ezra's urgent second appeal for Levites to join his company for the return to Jerusalem. He sent several of his chief men and trusted men of understanding back to Iddo and his brethren the Nethinim at Casiphia with a written plea to provide workers as ministers for the house of God. The appeal was heeded by some who had been hesitating, bringing to the camp about forty priests and two hundred and twenty Nethinim. They joined the return to Jerusalem as reliable wise ministers, good teachers and helpers on whom he could rely.
