Galatians 1:21

Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;

After leaving Jerusalem, Paul came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia and labored there. There he proclaimed the faith he had once tried to destroy. As the work in Antioch grew, Barnabas felt the need for suitable help to advance with God's opening providences, so he journeyed to Tarsus, found Paul, and persuaded him to return with him as a companion in ministry.

In the populous city of Antioch, Paul found an excellent field of labor. His learning, wisdom, and zeal exerted a powerful influence that proved to be just the help Barnabas needed. For a year the two labored together in faithful, united ministry, bringing many to a saving knowledge of Jesus of Nazareth, the world's Redeemer.
