Galatians 1:24

And they glorified God in me.

The early, primitive, Judean churches and believers glorified God in Paul because of what God had done and worked in him. They glorified God specifically because the persecutor of the faith had become its preacher and apostle, Saul the persecutor turned into Paul the apostle. That transformation was evidence of God's power at work in him and a revelation of His love.

Changed, faithful service and labor that converts souls causes other churches to give glory to God in the worker. This is the standard that present believers and Christians should strive to reach, so that the same can be said of them. It is likewise the standard for ministers to live so that the same words can be said of them.

A persecutor newly turned to the truth could at once be a cause for glorifying God. That proves that those who accept the truth in the present day may be trained and educated at once to become missionaries wherever they are located and be entrusted at once with responsibility in missionary lines. Even a church of only half a dozen should study the Bible and know how to work for others. The same glorifying of God can happen through well-directed labor for the many souls in the South who may be converted. That work must be conducted on different lines than in any other field in the United States, including educating the people how to work to sustain themselves, because insignificant measures for people in a destitute and corrupted state of humanity come up before God.

That life is lived by seeking God with the whole heart. It acknowledges His superintendence and oversight in preparing fields of labor and in preparing and opening the way for those fields to be occupied successfully. It also belongs with receiving His provision of ways and means. It answers His need for many more laborers in His vineyard, and when meeting discouragement believes His promise, refuses to fail or become discouraged, and trusts Him to give a most wonderful experience with His abiding presence to the end of the world.

For ministers that life comes from having earnest prayer with those convicted by the truth and trusting that Christ is always present. It comes from receiving God's exhibitions of grace as a sincere humble worker and reflecting to others the light God has shone upon them. Such reflecting is a most precious offering to the Lord and fills those who bear the good tidings of salvation with praise.
