Galatians 1:3

Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

Grace and peace come to believers from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. The Father and the Son are high, holy, mighty powers standing at the head of the great firm. The greeting wisely reveals the paternal character of God, declaring His relation to human beings as Father. It explains, by one filled with the Spirit of Christ, what it means to address God as Father.

That grace and peace are joined to Christ giving Himself for sins, to deliver people from sins and from the present evil world according to the will of God the Father. The Father and Christ are the source of the gospel that was preached, centered on Christ's sacrifice for sinners and deliverance from sin.

In response, everyone must examine and prove whether they are in the faith. Each must discern whether Christ is in them, unless they are disqualified as reprobates. Each must pray to God to do no evil but to do what is honest.
