Galatians 2:10

Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.

At the Jerusalem council Paul was urged to remember the poor, and he was already eager to do so. The offerings of the Gentile churches carried to the Jerusalem church fulfilled that commitment. Those gifts showed love for the Jewish believers and desire for harmony and unity with them.

The verse gives the direction of Christ to remember the poor and supply their necessities. It calls for practical care, so that the need of a person such as Sister Griffen should move someone to help her, and cases like hers must not be passed by indifferently. Obeying this direction would make the world a different place, and together with Old Testament teaching on work and land it holds the answer to the labor problem.
